I am that which conquers fear.
I am the hero and the fool.

for Her Law is love unto all beings. Keep pure your highest ideal; strive ever
towards it, let naught stop you or turn you aside; for She is the secret
door which opens upon the land of youth, and She is the cup of wine that is the
wine of life. She is the cauldron of Cerridwen.

I am the Gracious Goddess, who gives the gift of joy unto the heart of man.
Upon the Earth, I give the knowledge of the spirit eternal; and beyond
death, I give peace and freedom, and reunion with those who have gone before.
Let my worship be within the heart that rejoiceth ; for behold all acts of
love and pleasures are my rituals.
And therefore let there be beauty and strength, power and compassion, honor
and humility, mirth and reverence within you.
I have been with you from the beginning; and I am that which is attained at
the end of desire.

HP:

I who am the Lord of the Hunt and the Power of the Light, the Sun among the
clouds and the secret of the flame, I call upon your bodies to arise and
come unto me. For I am the body of the Earth, and all its beings.
Through me all things must die and with me are reborn.
Let my worship be in the body that signs, for behold all acts of willing
sacrifice are my rituals. Let there be desire and fear, anger and weakness,
joy and peace, awe and longing with you. For these too are part of the
mysteries found within yourself, within me, all beginnings have ending, and
all endings have new beginnings.

:: Start with kissing, then foreplay then oral pleasures, 69, then Make Love
in the Name of Cerridwen and Cernunnos, and sing out, scream and cry out
with our pleasures, give thanks to the God and Goddess :: (Ritual scourge
may be used)

Spell work:

Bless new magickal items, can cleanse and bless items at this time. Great
time to use a Moon Mirror for scrying.((At this time, I would do research
and see what the moon's alignment is and how that effects us. )) A strong
protection is offered when using the drawing down of the moon.

Often I would use this time for something serious. A few ideas:

Accomplishment
Development
Expansion
Attainment
Growth
Fulfillment
Achievement
Fruition
Flowering
Maturity
Prosperity
Realization
Progress
Presence
Confidence
Enlightenment
Success

Cakes and Ale:

HP takes the chalice and kneels before the HPS. HP takes the Athame and
slowly lowers it into the Chalice as the HPS says: As the Athame is to the
male

HP: so the Cup is to the female

BOTH: and thus conjoined, they bring blessedness.

(Make sure to touch each of the cakes with the now wet tip of the Athame
while saying)

HPS: O Queen most secret, bless this food unto our bodies bestowing health,
wealth, joy, strength peace and that fulfillment of Love that is perpetual
happiness.

Sharing time:

Dismissal of Quarters:

Guardian of the Watchtower of the North, Mighty Dragons of Earth. We thank
you for attending our rite, and 'ere you depart to your pleasant and lovely
realms we wish you hail and farewell.

The West Mighty Dragons of Water.

Then South- Fire

East- Air.

Close the Circle.

Lord and Lady, we thank you for your presence,
For our coming together
For light and love
For night and change
As we close this Circle
We seek your blessings
For peaceful homes, joyous hears and successful endeavors.

Snuff black and White Candles.
Carry red candle for fire seal. Saying 3x:

Let the fire seal the Circle round let it fade beneath the ground, let all
be

as it was ... since the beginning of time.

Snuff red Candle:

The circle is open, but unbroken,
May the peace of the Goddess,
And the Blessings of the Great God
Go with your hearts as we part.
Merry have we met in love and trust,
And merry do we part as the rite is closed.
So has it been said
So had it been done

So mote it be!

How to Cast a Circle

Find a quiet spot where you will be undisturbed.
Face North and envision yourself in a dark green forest, fertile and full of life
Call upon the Spirits of Earth, Guardians of the North, to guard your northern side.
Face East and envision yourself on a high cliff with the wind blowing in your hair.
Call upon the Spirits of Air, Guardians of the East, to guard your eastern side.
Face South and envision yourself in a hot desert with the sun beating down upon you.
Call upon the Spirits of Fire, Guardians of the South, to guard your southern side.
Face West and envision yourself on the beach with a calm blue sea before you.
Call upon the Spirits of Water, Guardians of the West, to guard your western side.
Walk deosil (clockwise) around your circle, envisioning a shimmering line of fire rising to enclose it.
As you walk, repeat, 'I cast a circle and erect a temple, a place between the worlds, where human and Divine may meet.'
Honor the Goddess and invite her into your circle.
Honor the God and invite him into your circle.
Conduct whatever ritual you have planned.
When finished with your ritual, open the circle by repeating these steps in reverse.

I know most of you get your information from books and outside sources but Believe me as I true wiccan that yes though the house of night books claim to be based off wicca its not that true. There are so many things wrong with the books. Take for example our beloved Zoey who is a hps in training. You see that is wrong in the wiccan world. The real name for the role is Maiden. There is not hps in training. Many believe that the hps can change when in fact they can not. I posted in another topic that I am becoming one because I am the Maiden of my coven. My hps and hp are leaving the coven and the next highest is me.

PostSubject: Re: Information About Wicca   Mon Jun 14, 2010 6:24 pm

In the books it talks about a table in the center full of thing. The really name is an alter. Here is what normally with it:

Athame- (Magickal knife)
The Athame (pronounced at-ah-may) is used for cutting, not of the physical plane, but of the astral. It is used to direct energy and as a power manipulation device. Also used as the symbol of the Masculine in conjunction with the chalice.

Bell-The bell is a feminine symbol used to invoke the Goddess, evoke good energies or to ward off evil spirits and spells.

Besom-A besom is a hand-made broom of ash staff and birch twigs, these can often be found in garden centers at (usually) a reasonable price. The besom is used primarily as a purifier, and many Wiccan rituals begin by sweeping the area where the sacred circle is to be cast in order to remove any negative energies. The besom can also be used as a protective implement by laying it under the bed, across a windowsill or across the threshold of your property.

Book of Shadows -The most important "tool" of all. Your Book of Shadows is where you keep all your information relating to spells, rituals, invocations... Traditionally this was hand written, but some people now have a computerised version. Do remember however that it is not much good in having it on your PC when you are in the middle of a clearing performing a ritual - you will need printed copy.

Cauldron -The archetypal tool of the Witch! The cauldron is used for scrying and as a container in which magickal transformations occur.

Candles -You will need a good stock of candles, mainly you will need white, but other colors will be required for candle magick. Alter candles are green to represent the Goddess and red to represent the God.

Cup or Chalice-Usually made of silver, brass or gold, and is used to contain ritual beverages. Used to symbolize the feminine in conjunction with the Athame.

Cakes-Used to ground and celebrate the Goddess bounty following your Ritual before releasing the Circle. May be cakes, cookies, breads or even fruits.
Charcoal-Used to burn powdered incense and herbs. Get small charcoal discs, not the briquettes used on a barbecue!

Compass-Some find it difficult to divine the four directions, especially when working away from home, so a compass may be a useful tool to take with you when you travel!

Cords-Of Varying thickness and colors are used to mark the boundaries of the Circle by some, and by others to perform Bindings. Some will not perform Bindings at any cost, as they feel that it breaks the Rede ('An it harm none, Do as Ye Will!'), but others do feel that in exceptional circumstances (such as when someone is acting in a self harming manner) they can be justified. Whatever your own personal views, you have to remember that the Three Fold Law says you'll get back times three what you do to others, so proceed with care!

Goddess Wine-Red or White wine, blessed for use during the Ritual, though you can just as easily use Ale, Juice or Water.

Herbs-Used for Healing and Magick, can include fresh, dried and frozen herbs and spices. They can be used to burn, to make tinctures and potions or as compresses.

Holy Water-Used upon the Altar to represent the Water Element, and also to cleanse and consecrate Magickal and Ritual tools and areas. It's basically consecrated water that has had some consecrated salt added to it and been blessed. We like to get the water from a local spring ourselves (that's located in a powerful local area), just to be sure that its 100% natural. Water is considered Female in its symbolism, so goes to the left of the Altar.

Incense-Available in stick, cone and powder form and is used upon the Altar to represent the Air Element during Rituals. Certain types of incense have various Magickal uses.

Incense burner (Censer) -This is usually a bowl or cup half filled with sand upon which incense is burned during rituals. There are lots of expensive ready made burners available on the market, but chose what you feel happy with and what your budget can withstand. Cone, stick or block incense can be used, but raw or granulated incense is preferred (and doesn't contain glue to hold it together and smell when burned!).
Matches-For lighting candles and Incense. Can be a good idea to tape a spare box underneath the Altar for emergencies, and don't put spent matches into the Censer, keep a separate bowl for them underneath the Altar itself.

Oils-For use in Scented Oil Burners and in Ritual use (such as Dedicating Tools and Self) and also for the Ritual Bath.

Parchment / Paper-Used for writing special spells and notes.

Powders-Used either for burning with Herbs, or for marking the boundaries of your Circle

Sea Salt / Rock Salt -Used upon the Altar for representing the Earth Element, and for cleansing the Circle during it's casting. Salt is considered Male in it's symbolism, so goes to the right side of the Altar.

Seeds-Can be used in Magickal and Ritual workings, especially at the Imbolc Sabbat and for symbolizing new beginnings, such as at a Handfasting, Wiccaning or Dedication Ritual.

Smudge Sticks-A stick of Herbs that is burnt at a slow smolder, used to smudge (or cleanse) during and before a Ritual.

String-Used for Binding and Cord Magick, and to keep poppets and other Magickal Packages sealed together.

"An it harm none, do what ye will" is considered the main tenant of Wicca. It is similar to the Golden Rule, in that it mandates that you can do whatever you want, but only if you do not harm anything, anyone or yourself in the process. This belief constantly reminds us that there are many consequences to our actions and we must consider all possible outcomes before acting. The Wiccan Rede thereby binds Wiccans to do the right thing, for if we don't, then the law of three applies: "Whatever you do will return to you threefold".

Its depends on you are are brought up to believe. The law of Three has been know the law of Three, Five, Seven and Ten. My coven abids by the law of Seven just to make sure we do the right thing.

PostSubject: Re: Information About Wicca   Mon Jun 14, 2010 6:54 pm

haha thanks...I am just posting what I know and what I am borrowing for the sites that tremer talk about.

Okay lets get more in depth with the wiccan Hoildays shall we

Samhain Lore (October 31st)

Samhain, (pronounced SOW-in, SAH-vin, or SAM-hayne) means "End of Summer", and is the third and final Harvest. The dark winter half of the year commences on this Sabbat.

It is generally celebrated on October 31st, but some traditions prefer November 1st. It is one of the two "spirit-nights" each year, the other being Beltane. It is a magical interval when the mundane laws of time and space are temporarily suspended, and the Thin Veil between the worlds is lifted. Communicating with ancestors and departed loved ones is easy at this time, for they journey through this world on their way to the Summerlands. It is a time to study the Dark Mysteries and honor the Dark Mother and the Dark Father, symbolized by the Crone and her aged Consort.

Originally the "Feast of the Dead" was celebrated in Celtic countries by leaving food offerings on altars and doorsteps for the "wandering dead". Today a lot of practitioners still carry out that tradition. Single candles were lit and left in a window to help guide the spirits of ancestors and loved ones home. Extra chairs were set to the table and around the hearth for the unseen guest. Apples were buried along roadsides and paths for spirits who were lost or had no descendants to provide for them. Turnips were hollowed out and carved to look like protective spirits, for this was a night of magic and chaos. The Wee Folke became very active, pulling pranks on unsuspecting humans. Traveling after dark was was not advised. People dressed in white (like ghosts), wore disguises made of straw, or dressed as the opposite gender in order to fool the Nature spirits.

This was the time that the cattle and other livestock were slaughtered for eating in the ensuing winter months. Any crops still in the field on Samhain were considered taboo, and left as offerings to the Nature spirits. Bonfires were built, (originally called bone-fires, for after feasting, the bones were thrown in the fire as offerings for healthy and plentiful livestock in the New Year) and stones were marked with peoples names. Then they were thrown into the fire, to be retrieved in the morning. The condition of the retrieved stone foretold of that person's fortune in the coming year. Hearth fires were also lit from the village bonfire to ensure unity, and the ashes were spread over the harvested fields to protect and bless the land.

Various other names for this Greater Sabbat are Third Harvest, Samana, Day of the Dead, Old Hallowmas (Scottish/Celtic), Vigil of Saman, Shadowfest (Strega), and Samhuinn. Also known as All Hallow's Eve, (that day actually falls on November 7th), and Martinmas (that is celebrated November 11th), Samhain is now generally considered the Witch's New Year.

Somethings you want to keep in mind when you are working on your alter for Samhain are:

Symbolism of Samhain:

Imbolc Lore (February 2nd)

Imbolc, (pronounced "IM-bulk" or "EM-bowlk"), also called Oimealg, ("IM-mol'g), by the Druids, is the festival of the lactating sheep. It is derived from the Gaelic word "oimelc" which means "ewes milk". Herd animals have either given birth to the first offspring of the year or their wombs are swollen and the milk of life is flowing into their teats and udders. It is the time of Blessing of the seeds and consecration of agricultural tools. It marks the center point of the dark half of the year. It is the festival of the Maiden, for from this day to March 21st, it is her season to prepare for growth and renewal. Brighid's snake emerges from the womb of the Earth Mother to test the weather, (the origin of Ground Hog Day), and in many places the first Crocus flowers began to spring forth from the frozen earth.

The Maiden is honored, as the Bride, on this Sabbat. Straw Brideo'gas (corn dollies) are created from oat or wheat straw and placed in baskets with white flower bedding. Young girls then carry the Brideo'gas door to door, and gifts are bestowed upon the image from each household. Afterwards at the traditional feast, the older women make special acorn wands for the dollies to hold, and in the morning the ashes in the hearth are examined to see if the magic wands left marks as a good omen. Brighid's Crosses are fashioned from wheat stalks and exchanged as symbols of protection and prosperity in the coming year. Home hearth fires are put out and re-lit, and a besom is place by the front door to symbolize sweeping out the old and welcoming the new. Candles are lit and placed in each room of the house to honor the re-birth of the Sun.

Another traditional symbol of Imbolc is the plough. In some areas, this is the first day of ploughing in preparation of the first planting of crops. A decorated plough is dragged from door to door, with costumed children following asking for food, drinks, or money. Should they be refused, the household is paid back by having its front garden ploughed up. In other areas, the plough is decorated and then Whiskey, the "water of life" is poured over it. Pieces of cheese and bread are left by the plough and in the newly turned furrows as offerings to the nature spirits. It is considered taboo to cut or pick plants during this time.

Various other names for this Greater Sabbat are Imbolgc Brigantia (Caledonni), Imbolic (Celtic), Disting (Teutonic, Feb 14th), Lupercus (Strega), St. Bridget's Day (Christian), Candlemas, Candlelaria (Mexican), the Snowdrop Festival. The Festival of Lights, or the Feast of the Virgin. All Virgin and Maiden Goddesses are honored at this time.

Beltane- (April30/May 1)
Also known as Roodmas or May Day
Many Wiccans and Pagans celebrate Beltane. It is one of eight solar Sabbats. This holiday incorporates traditions from the Gaelic Bealtaine, such as the bonfire, but it bears more relation to the Germanic May Day festival, both in its significance (focusing on fertility) and its rituals (such as May pole dancing). Some traditions celebrate this holiday on May 1 or May day, whiles others begin their celebration the eve before or April 30th.
Beltane has long been celebrated with feasts and rituals. The name means fire of Bel; Belinos being one name for the Sun God, whose coronation feast we now celebrate. As summer begins, weather becomes warmer, and the plant world blossoms, an exuberant mood prevails. In old Celtic traditions it was a time of unabashed sexuality and promiscuity where marriages of a year and a day could be undertaken but it is rarely observed in that manner in modern times.

In the old Celtic times, young people would spend the entire night in the woods "A-Maying," and then dance around the phallic Maypole the next morning. Older married couples were allowed to remove their wedding rings (and the restrictions they imply) for this one night. May morning is a magickal time for wild water (dew, flowing streams, and springs) which is collected and used to bathe in for beauty, or to drink for health.

The Christian religion had only a poor substitute for the life-affirming Maypole -- namely, the death-affirming cross. Hence, in the Christian calendar, this was celebrated as 'Roodmas'. In Germany, it was the feast of Saint Walpurga, or 'Walpurgisnacht'. An alternative date around May 5 (Old Beltane), when the sun reaches 15 degrees Taurus, is sometimes employed by Covens. (Both 'Lady Day' and 'Ostara' are names incorrectly assigned to this holiday by some modern traditions of Wicca.)

The May pole was a focal point of the old English village rituals. Many people would rise at the first light of dawn to go outdoors and gather flowers and branches to decorate their homes. Women traditionally would braid flowers into their hair. Men and women alike would decorate their bodies. Beltane marks the return of vitality, of passion. Ancient Pagan traditions say that Beltane marks the emergence of the young God into manhood. Stirred by the energies at work in nature, he desires the Goddess. They fall in love, lie among the grasses and blossoms, and unite. The Goddess becomes pregnant of the God. To celebrate, a wedding feast, for the God and Goddess must be prepared. Let Them guide you! Breads and cereals are popular. Try oatmeal cakes or cookies sweetened with a dab of honey. Dairy foods are again appropriate...just make a lovely wedding feast and you are sure to enjoy yourself! An early morning walk through a local park or forest could be fun for everyone. Gather up some plants or flowers to display in your home. Mom and daughter could braid their hair, and weave in a few tender blossoms.

July 31st Lughnasadh / Lammas

Lughnasadh means the funeral games of Lugh (pronounced Loo), referring to Lugh, the Irish sun god. However, the funeral is not his own, but the funeral games he hosts in honor of his foster-mother Tailte. For that reason, the traditional Tailtean craft fairs and Tailtean marriages (which last for a year and a day) are celebrated at this time.

This day originally coincided with the first reapings of the harvest. It was known as the time when the plants of spring wither and drop their fruits or seeds for our use as well as to ensure future crops.

As autumn begins, the Sun God enters his old age, but is not yet dead. The God symbolically loses some of his strength as the Sun rises farther in the South each day and the nights grow longer.

The Christian religion adopted this theme and called it 'Lammas ', meaning 'loaf-mass ', a time when newly baked loaves of bread are placed on the altar. An alternative date around August 5 (Old Lammas), when the sun reaches 15 degrees Leo, is sometimes employed by Covens.

Things to keep in mind for your alter:

Traditional Foods:
Apples, Grains, Breads and Berries.

Herbs and Flowers:
All Grains, Grapes, Heather, Blackberries, Sloe, Crab Apples, Pears.

Incense:
Aloes, Rose, Sandalwood.

Sacred Gemstone:

Special Activities:
As summer passes, many Pagans/ wiccans celebrate this time to remember its warmth and bounty in a celebrated feast shared with family or Coven members. Save and plant the seeds from the fruits consumed during the feast or ritual. If they sprout, grow the plant or tree with love and as a symbol of your connection with the Lord and Lady. Walk through the fields and orchards or spend time along springs, creeks, rivers, ponds and lakes reflecting on the bounty and love of the Lord and Lady

March 21 -- Ostara -- Spring or The Vernal Equinox
Also known as: Lady Day or Alban Eiler (Druidic)

As Spring reaches its midpoint, night and day stand in perfect balance, with light on the increase. The young Sun God now celebrates a hierogamy (sacred marriage) with the young Maiden Goddess, who conceives. In nine months, she will again become the Great Mother. It is a time of great fertility, new growth, and newborn animals.

The next full moon (a time of increased births) is called the Ostara and is sacred to Eostre the Saxon Lunar Goddess of fertility (from whence we get the word estrogen, whose two symbols were the egg and the rabbit.

The Christian religion adopted these emblems for Easter which is celebrated on the first Sunday after the first full moon following the vernal equinox. The theme of the conception of the Goddess was adapted as the Feast of the Annunciation, occurring on the alternative fixed calendar date of March 25 Old Lady Day, the earlier date of the equinox. Lady Day may also refer to other goddesses (such as Venus and Aphrodite), many of whom have festivals celebrated at this time.

And again remember:

Leafy green vegetables, Dairy foods, Nuts such as Pumpkin, Sunflower and Pine. Flower Dishes and Sprouts.

Herbs and Flowers:
Daffodil, Jonquils, Woodruff, Violet, Gorse, Olive, Peony, Iris, Narcissus and all spring flowers.

Incense:

Sacred Gemstone:
Jasper

Special Activities:
